When hiring a hair-and makeup professional for your wedding day, the person that normally does your hair and make-up at a salon, might not always be a good fit for wedding day and here’s why.
Wedding days typically follow a strict timeline of events, elaborated by conversations with your wedding planner, to keep the day flowing smoothly and to make sure you have time to enjoy your day and not feel like you are being pulled in all directions, trust us you don’t need the stress.
Just because you trust a hair and make-up professional doesn’t mean that they necessarily know how to work the strict timeline of a wedding day. Especially if you have a big wedding wedding party. Just one Stylist can not handle doing multiple attendants and still have you ready on time. That comes with experience, skill and is something that is learned by actually working weddings on a continuous basis.
There are hair and makeup TEAMS out there that are trained professionals at doing hair and makeup on wedding day and that are rockstars when it comes to timelines. Now keep in mind, wedding days are long and sometimes depending on the size of your wedding party, weddings days with these hair and makeup teams can start as early at 6:00 am. The general rule that we’ve seen is about an hour for each bridesmaids depending on the complexity and up to two hours for bride.
Thankfully we have been know to drop a name or two of some pretty awesome TEAMS that we have worked with that ALWAYS have our brides on time. And as a general rule, if you are doing a first look a bride should be ready about three hours before ceremony time and if you are not about two and a half to two hours before.
